Diagnostic Services

Our goal is to give you as much information as possible the day of your visit. We are able to offer the following tests in house and have results same day:

  • Complete blood counts
  • Blood chemistries
  • Clotting times
  • Blood gases
  • Thyroid levels
  • Cortisol levels
  • Blood typing
  • Urinalysis
  • Parvo tests
  • Feline combo tests (FeLV and FIV)
  • Same day cytologies (samples from masses, fluid, ears, etc.)
  • Blood pressures

What if you don't offer the test I need in house?

In addition to our in-house labs, we have partnered with Zoetis to provide any other testing that needs to be done. This includes common procedures such as biopsies and tissue cultures, as well as specialized testing for specific viruses and diseases.

Diagnostic Imaging

In addition to the above tests, we can image your pets with digital x-rays and ultrasound.

Digital radiography, also known as a digital X-ray, is an advanced diagnostic tool primarily used to visualize your pet’s organs, including but not limited to the cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, and urinary systems.

The Benefits of Digital Vet X-rays:

  • Digital X-rays have a higher image quality than regular film X-rays
  • They offer instant results
  • There is less radiation exposure compared to film X-rays

If your pet is calm and cooperative, there is no need for sedation. However, if your dog or cat has anxiety issues, a sedative or general anesthesia may be administered to help them relax so we can get the best images possible.

Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique that allows internal body structures to be seen by recording echoes or reflections of ultrasonic waves. Brief ultrasounds can be performed to evaluate for things like fluid in body cavities, bladder assessments, and some masses can be identified. A full abdominal ultrasound involves careful assessment of each organ as well as radiologist review of the acquired images. We have one veterinarian that can perform full abdominal ultrasounds. We can discuss with you if this test is something that is recommended.
