Our Story
Drs. Blake and Franz have known each other since veterinary school at WSU and had been tossing around the idea of opening a practice for several years. They met Dr. Dahl at her first job out of veterinary school and discovered that she, too, shared a passion for urgent care and had a goal of one day owning a practice.
Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic, what used to be a dream started to take shape. It was troubling to see general practitioners so overwhelmed by appointment requests that pets had to wait weeks when sick. At the same time, emergency rooms were so inundated with critical cases that there just wasn't enough time to attend to anything that was non-emergent and stable.
Capital Pet Urgent Care was created to help ease the load on both sides. Our facility is designed to help clients and their pets get help quickly while freeing up the 24-hour facilities to continue assisting the sickest and most critical pets. We aim to provide high-quality medical care when you need it and then get you back to your trusted regular veterinarian.
Dr. Jillian Blake
Dr. Blake, a talented veterinarian, resides on a thriving farm surrounded by a lively group of animals. Her pack of dogs, clowder of cats, flock of chickens, and herd of Charolais cattle create a harmonious and bustling environment. Alongside her animal companions, Dr. Blake recently experienced the joy of becoming a mother to her first human child, adding another precious member to her loving family. With her extensive experience, she has worked with a diverse array of species, from farm animals to companion animals and even exotic creatures, showcasing her versatility and passion for animal care.
Dr. E. Linden Franz
Dr. Franz is a dedicated veterinarian who shares her life with a bustling household of three dogs and two cats. Alongside her passion for animals, she has taken on an impressive project of purchasing and revitalizing a century-old home, painstakingly rebuilding it from the ground up. Dr. Franz's adventurous spirit extends beyond her veterinary work, as she is an experienced backpacker and skilled kayaker, always seeking new outdoor challenges.
Dr. Karen Dahl
Dr. Dahl is an adventurous veterinarian living with her husband and a delightful fur family consisting of a cat, golden retriever, and Labrador. Passionate about both animals and exploration, she embraces every opportunity to travel and seek new adventures. In addition to her veterinary expertise, Dr. Dahl has recently honed her skills in the art of home latte making.
